Author: Adventurous Memoir
Welcome to my travel memoir of exploring the world, traveling the road less traveled, and touching the earth in my own journey, from domestically on the weekends to other countries.
I didn't grow up traveling out of state. I didn't explore a foreign country until after college, believing that travel was expensive. However, I quickly learned that traveling can be affordable, rejuvenating, meditative, and expands one's mind.
I'm a writer and traveler from California. I've worked as a university magazine editor and writer, and have published fictional short stories, poems, and (non-fictional) articles. I have cultivated my creativity for years and intend to keep it.
I started blogging to tell my college volunteering project out in the desert, in a place mostly known to history buffs. For the first time, I kept a “travel” journal that documented my journey.
The next winter month, I reread the scrawls of my journal and knew there was a
story waiting to be heard, and it poured out on the keyboards. From there, I continued blogging in a similar style of destination-based storytelling that touches on history, culture, and of course, adventure.
As I traveled, I realize that I was growing up as a traveler. I took the “road less travel” by going to places that weren’t really well-known, getting to know the locals, and discovering something to appreciate. I’ve had conversations that would have never happened if I was just working in an office and staying at home. I’ve been on an emergency flight landing, seen the aftermath of a flood, hid from a tornado, and had many interesting conversations. I realized that the more we learn about different places, the more we can make better decisions and create a balance in the world.
I hope my travel stories entertain you.
